Will there be other languages in the future?

Well I know that english is world language number one. Usually it's not that hard to me to understand games in english. In the case of "The Banner Saga" it's something different. There is very much to read (which I really like to do), the story is complex and I think the english in the game is...well I think it's old? to raise the atmosphere of this fantasy viking world?

It would be great if it could get translated into other languages like german (in my case), french, italian, spanish and so on. It would really create a better atmosphere for me. What do other non-native english speakers say?

Of course a big thanks to the developers and the supporters of the kickstarter campaign. It's a beautiful game.

Yes there will be. German and Russian look to be possible priorities, but expect it in a few months time.

Since German and Russian are possible priorities for translation in a few months, what about an outsourcing of the current text files (xml or whatever) so the modding community should be able to translate the game in other languages, at least partially since i see in an another thread that you are strongly considering about adding subtitles to the cutscenes.

They are already working on the German translation, they will probably go to the start in March.

Quote on request of an editor on Gamestar.de:

"Gamestar: Are there concrete plans for a German localization?
Stoic: We are 100% committed to localize the game in German. We did want to launch with German language included, but we simply did not have time before we finalized the game for release.
