Looks like you found a bug at episode(4) when the Robbers took down your party. You would normally end the game if no one fled.

But poisoning must have been a good surprise :D

Edit: For some real masochistic battles you should try For the Gods DLC if you have a copy of it. Rukian and Bodon has some good challenges.

Yes, it is nice to watch your playthrough, especially while waiting for the new DLC before starting a new campaign of my own. :)
