Expeditions: Conquistador
The Volcano Cave
So far I really like the setting of this game, I was worried when I bought it that it would not be done well and therefore be jarring. However, I think it's great and a lot of the time the dialogue and whatnot feels logical and fairly authentic.

And then I went to the Volcano area in Mexico. Really? What is that cave part about? So far all the religious parts on both sides have been pretty realistic with no way to prove either is true. So this part just feels... ridiculous. It's a shame because up until that point the strong religious influence just added to the historical setting.

Plus I trotted all the way down there and there only seems to be one way in and out and I didn't even get much for it. Am I missing something?

I'm sorry you feel that way. I thought the final characters you meet at the volcano and el dorado were a riot. I was like WTF LOL when those guys jumped out at me.

And nah you didn't miss anything, it's explained in the codex that this was based on history and they thought the volcano was spewing liquid gold. They were wrong.
The logical explanation behind the volcano and the "vision" they get there are that the fumes are toxic and making them hallucinate.
I guess all that sulpher is bad for you!

yet you can still get a fancy jewel
Yes, that is the interesting part.
It's an X-File, Scully. Just be glad you aren't stuck in a giant mushroom. Although, then again, that's a spoiler for both the game and The X-Files.
