How to edit followers?

Hi there! Is there any way to edit the names and stats of the followers?

I already googled, that the XML Documents in the Override folder are editable. I tried to change a name there, bu when i started a new game (or loaded an old one) the name was the default one. In the steam folder, there is the "Expeditions Conquistador_Data" folder with another data "level0"/"level1". Do i have to edit this data? And if yes, how?

The level0.xml in the override folder contains some lines: "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?>

<ListOfEvents>
<GUILanguageFile>GUI-en</GUILanguageFile>
<VersionXML>1.4</VersionXML>"

Does this mean that the xml was only used until version 1.4 of the game? I changed the line to <VersionXML>1.5</VersionXML> but this changed nothing...

I'd really appreciate some help on this issue.

ps.: Editing the names of party members should be a default option in-game...

You can't edit the names of the starting followers, but you can edit their backgrounds. If you want completely different followers, you can add them through an event (Such as the people you pick up during your travels).
