Expeditions sequel wish list
I will start with mine, as subjective as they are:

1. *4 and *8 times faster combat option. Players could quickly grow tired of watching the same animations over and over in turn based combat.

2. Likewise, an option that enables *2 or *4 times faster movement on exploration map. There is really no substance in watching your character trotting across a map between events and discoveries. That kind of time should be minimized.

3. More character specific events(like Anacaona and Isabella) even if it means less characters overall. The game had a cast of interesting characters, but unfortunately didn't give players a chance to know them well.

4. More politics please! Being a leader of an expedition, making political decisions and pulling schemes would be an interesting distinction from a mere adventurer's tale.

5. No gender equality. To be fair, it must have been impossible for a woman to lead early expedition force(hence female protagonist is unrealistic), but that can be covered with excuses like the protagonist being a daughter of powerful noble house. However, the sense of gender equality shared by almost all characters that seems to have been burrowed from 21st century was a bit of a letdown to me. I'm not entirely sure if this decision was for PR or narrative decision, but it does not realistically capture the era's norm.

I would be very intrigued if in the sequel choosing female protagonist can cause you all kind of troubles and penalties with unique dialogues, and choosing male protagonist can give you dialogue options to belittle other female characters(because sexism was prevalent in that era.) In regards to gender equality, I felt as though I'm dealing with characters from 21st century.
