Information on New Update? 8/10/2013
Is there any info on this update?

The only thing I notice is that the Facebook sharing isn't fixed yet :(
Edit: Files are now lumped into a .dat file that prevents modding.

It is possible to Unpack and repack but I don't know how to use c++ that well. Honestly not worth it anyways.. no one else is going to use our skins if they have to jump through hoops.

Surely if they haven't given permission for people to mod/alter files for the game then this 'fix' for it is right and fine. Yes it prevents modding, but without permission that is technically illegal right? (But no, of course you won't get caught)
Now shut up and develop your own games. This update would only be a waste if they said they were open to community ideas etc.
Modding is not illegal. Theft of inttlectual property is. Modding is creating something with content that you own.

Technically the game is still property of Namco.

Oh STFU stupid shill, modding is not illegal, go elsewhere to try cheat the naive with your reputation management BS.

Hahahaha reminds me of the terrible PR people who show up on reddit threads trying to pass things off as misinformation.

Modding has always been a path in to the industry.

I'm not against modding, and I agree it creates a lot of gems.
I just think people should stop whining about this update.

Yes the GAME is only liecensed to us via Steam. but the .Png I created with the my own custom art falls under my own lisense. Their software loaded my art. What is the problem here. What boogey man is going to show up becuase its so illegal to make your own art and relace the stock art.

INFACT: They could at least add one custom art slot that we could pump our skins too and lock up the DLC ones. They could even do a checksum to make sure the .png files didnt match any of theirs.

Modding adds life and years to games. Not many will care about this game 3 years from now.. Imagine all of the cool skins we could have had by then.

A checksum wouldn't really work (very subtle differences would be unnoticable, but would have a totally different checksum), but regardless of any concern about DLC piracy, I think the option to add custom themes (while keeping the default and DLC ones in the .dat file) could still be a good idea. If it was done right and promoted well, I think it could generate extra sales of the base game (and perhaps the DLC along with it) which would make up for any perceived loss in DLC sales from the supposed threat of people who are honest enough to buy the base game yet would rather steal the DLC.

Now tell us how EULAs are above law, although I'd rather hear a western tale.

Yup, although I think this one is freelance, NAMCO is too cheap even for this.

I have not heard people say it is fixed so it is most likely not fixed.

The end result of this will be people downloading old versions of the game illegally because they'll be able to use custom skins like before, and access the classic skin which Namco has prevented people from obtaining legitimately with the broken facebook integration.

Smart play, Namco. Real genius stuff going on over there.

Exactly, just take a look at the Workshop features some games have, as Left 4 Dead 2 ;)

It still stutters... Windowed mode, full-screen mode, doesn't matter. I'm losing hope it will be fixed at all.

Well I saw some messages in my inbox, and look what it is...
I just paused the download and backed up all the graphical data/sound.

The Pac-Man game in December will most likely be my last Namco game. Just another case of hurting customers. I got the DLC through pre-order, so they're basically giving it away.

I understand trying to restrain people from just switching the game files, but Namco should have just been smarter and kept the files out of the game until they're bought. That just leaves people who really want to the files to look for them online.

Hopefully someone will develop a data extractor, and us paying customers can have our fun again.

Did I help you backup your files by mentioning it? :)
