Technically the game is still property of Namco.
I'm not against modding, and I agree it creates a lot of gems.
I just think people should stop whining about this update.
Yes the GAME is only liecensed to us via Steam. but the .Png I created with the my own custom art falls under my own lisense. Their software loaded my art. What is the problem here. What boogey man is going to show up becuase its so illegal to make your own art and relace the stock art.
INFACT: They could at least add one custom art slot that we could pump our skins too and lock up the DLC ones. They could even do a checksum to make sure the .png files didnt match any of theirs.
Modding adds life and years to games. Not many will care about this game 3 years from now.. Imagine all of the cool skins we could have had by then.
Now tell us how EULAs are above law, although I'd rather hear a western tale.
Yup, although I think this one is freelance, NAMCO is too cheap even for this.
I have not heard people say it is fixed so it is most likely not fixed.
Smart play, Namco. Real genius stuff going on over there.
Exactly. I am pretty angry though.
I just paused the download and backed up all the graphical data/sound.
The Pac-Man game in December will most likely be my last Namco game. Just another case of hurting customers. I got the DLC through pre-order, so they're basically giving it away.
I understand trying to restrain people from just switching the game files, but Namco should have just been smarter and kept the files out of the game until they're bought. That just leaves people who really want to the files to look for them online.
Hopefully someone will develop a data extractor, and us paying customers can have our fun again.
Did I help you backup your files by mentioning it? :)
