Is 117% really saveable? (slight spoilers)

In the postmortem on gamasutra (http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/180520/postmortem_humble_hearts_dust_.php) I read that you could actually reach 117% completion (the number not being a coincidence). Now I'm sitting on the last savepoint, all areas have 100% exploration and 100% treasures found, Dust is level 60 and has top-notch gear. I have 12 friends (I think) waiting in my sanctuary (the party was awesome!). Still, the game tells me it is at 113% completion. Are the last 4% only theoretical since they're wrapped into the final boss after which you cannot save or is it because I only have 4 stars in only one trial and 3 in all others? Did I miss something else?

Try completing the trials and see if it changes anything.

Also, you may need to catalog every item.

Yeah I think you have to complete all the trials with a 4 star rating as well, in addition to beating the final boss.

In Spyro 3 it's possible to get 117%. It was going to go to 120%, but a few things were cut.
I wonder if the same happened to Dust.

Yes, that's another odd thing. I have 41/42 items catalogued and I have no clue what's missing... I'll have a look and see if there's a list of all 42 and compare...

Like I said, the 117% was a deliberate choice as a reference to the Masterchief from Halo

Did you get the Dog Tags for the merchants? Its pretty much the last crating material you find.

Yeah, I got those. I found a list of materials online (http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/609388-dust-an-elysian-tail/answers?qid=331971) and I also read somewhere that you need to have 4 star ratings all over. Let's see if I can do that.
Kay, got it. You need all materials (which is rather easy) and all challenges on 4 stars (which takes a few more attempts but is fun nontheless) along with of course 100% exploration and treasures / friends.

I honestly don't know, I'm at 117% right now also. I have 4 stars in all challenges, all friends, all materials catologued and 100% for exploration and treasure in all areas. I also have all quests (excluding the "Dust to Dust") complete. Perhaps getting all the ingame (Not Steam) achievements go towards percentage?

Yes, 117% is the max and it is saveable. I cheat a bit and let you 'earn' the last event, which wouldn't normally be saveable.
