[REQUEST] Change Ritual Achievements
I have 3 stars on every level, so it isn't that it is too hard. The real issue is that to get the no tower upgrades achievement you have to place so much on the screen that it crashes the game. And I have quite a powerful machine (Alienware Area 51, 16GB RAM, GTX 660), so I know that isn't the issue.

Just change the No Tower Upgrades achievement to anything else. The 1 life one is very difficult, I haven't really tried to get it on that level yet. I have a feeling it is completely within reason, though.

Ok, I got On the Verge now, so just this last pain in the butt. Again, I don't think it is very reasonable with the current state of the game. Way too laggy for that many towers. My closest run crashed in the 80s.

Same issue here. No chance of getting the no upgrade achievement as it slows down so much and crashes between 80-89. Hope it's fixed soon.

As it was stated in other topics, we will upload fix and this level will work as intended soon. This is not a problem of performance, it`s all about some engine bug.

Thanks, SAM!

The 1-life achievement (2 of them in the game) is uncreative, lazy, boring, annoying, and requires zero strategy. All you need to do is count monsters in the beginning and let in 19... then beat the level normally. Zero challenge in strategy or tower selection. It's a bad achievement so if you can stop using it in the future that would be great...

With my experience doing the first On The Verge, that strategy of counting monsters is easier said than done. If you simply let the first 19 through then you've wasted necessary time to build up defenses for the rest, and generally are overwhelmed because of this. I actually think getting this achievment is a bit of luck and counting monsters more towards the end of the level. Of course this is just my own experience.

Well, usually On The Verge is hard to do at the start. However, with the amount of cash they give you to start on Ritual, it isn't a big deal at all.

I think it would be better to change the 1-life achievement to something else and have a separate mission type where you only have 1 life for a map. Sort of like a survival mode, but just a different type of challenge.

I also like the idea of Survival mode, level 1 towers only mode, certain towers excluded mode, things like that. Variety is good for TD games. :)

Remember that you can PAUSE the game. I think a lot of people aren't using this and thus this is why On The Verge is hard for them.

If you want to be extremely safe or you just have trouble getting the exact amount of monsters through you can do something like: let about 15 monsters through then sell your towers at the end leaving the remaining monsters go.

Also don't spam waves in the beginning. That'll make counting harder. There are only two places this achievement show up:

- First one is the harder one. Don't skip waves in the beginning and count. If you just cannot get an exact number, go for 16 and let a wagon through in the end (wagon counts as 3). You can also try deploying an ice tower in the entrance after you finish counting to slow things down so the monsters you do let through can get in without monsters in the back getting through as well.

-Ritual: Extremely easy (if you don't crash at 89 waves that is...). Look at the map. There's one place you can block a path. Don't block it. Keep an eye on it as it will spawn monsters about 10-20 waves in. Remember that you need to block TWO spots to keep that path off, so only build one tower there (use something like slingshot so it doesn't hit ground as that path will spawn ground only early on). Then slow down the game and count... and finish building the tower as the last monster get through. Finish the game normally after that. If you are having trouble 3-staring this level (minus the crash), just build 1 ice, 1 detector, and all lightning. The other achievement is the hard one here (still haven't gotten it :/)

Same here :( hope they'll fix this soon. I mean most people won't care about getting these achievements, but some do and to them it's a complete pain in the neck

Thanks AuraofMana for the suggestion regarding the secondary path. I wouldn't have thought of that route for this achievment.

any tactics now to get the "no tower upgrade" at ritual? i lose every time at wave 88/89 - no way for all my lvl 25 towers to harm any enemy :witch:
Thudara Jul 7, 2013 @ 10:43pm
I don't think Ritual(No Tower Upgrades) is too difficult, I agree it is the hardest achievment to get, but with your towers evolved to lvl3 and fused to max this is just a matter of testing and improving your design, there even was a thread some time ago where ppl were discussing approaches
Without harder levels where is the fun in beating a game

If the game crashes during the lvl, please don't call for a change of achievments, as this is clearly a bug issue and not part of the intended game experience ;)

@Cdr.Keen
If it does not crash on you, try this:
block one path completly
in front of your end put a single ice tower on the range anormaly, then put mostly lightning towers at the end, on the outer lane parallel to the end put mortars
distribute dragon towers on the other anomalies and add some sun tower to where healers come from, then just keep adding towers to all lanes
As Magic I'd recommend Meteor and Rain of Fire, both on 25 ofc, especially rain of fire will take care of to heavy waves
good luck

@Thudara
Thank you a lot - finally got it :kungfusam:

Here is a screenshot of the layout i used for the "No tower upgrade" achivement
(inspired by Thudaras tactic)

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=158621236

All towers are max fused and evolved, no need for spells at all :gaper:

I started building the ice and lightning towers at the bottom, dragon towers on the anormalys and some mortars at the bottom. After that i added all other towers as they needed.

Not so bad that way, no need to change it :sticky:

The problem isn't that it is difficult, cause it is actually quite easy. The problem is that it crashes after 80 waves quite often.
