Achievement issues (problems just started today, November 4th)

I've had this game since before it even released, and have never had any issues up until this point. I love it, I've been playing on and off a few times a week (though admittedly not at all some weeks). All my achievements have unlocked without any issue in the past. But just today when I got on and played a couple levels, I unlocked both achievements for the second level I played, but I didn't get credit for it on Steam. The game acknowledges that I have them unlocked in-game just fine, but it won't register with Steam. I've even tried restarting the game a few times, but that didn't help at all.

This is extremely annoying, especially considering that the extensive and well-done achievements have always been one of the most appealing aspects of this game for me.

And yes I've seen the other threads about people having bugged achievements for weeks or months now, but this has not been the case for me. Mine have worked fine, including during the several times I've played this game in the past month. Today is the first sign of them not working.

I just started having this problem a few days ago. Everything was mostly working fine. Then on Saturday I noticed it missed one for not using wooden towers and from then on it hasn't worked at all, just the in-game stuff I don't care about. In fact, I noticed looking at my steam achievements that for the ones that carry a running total they don't even add up new things at all anymore. There is not any point in doing all the pointless grinding otherwise and judging by how long its been since this had been an issue for people I wouldn't get my hopes up on it getting fixed.

Damn it. :/ Well, thanks for the info. I was hoping to work on getting 100% completion on this game so I could move on to other games, but apparently that has been put on hold. It's a real shame, I've still been enjoying the hell out of it. But frankly I won't be playing any more of it until this gets worked out.

Well; this explains my achievement for reaching Lvl 15 not synching correctly to Steam yesterday.

I wonder if this may have anything to do with server changes after maintenance on Nival's end as I do recall a temporary connection loss and switch into offline mode occuring a few days before my bugged achievement unlock.

Guess I'm going to park this game until things get fixed. Hopefully Nival will finally build in some functionality to resync unlocked achievements with Steam on demand from the ingame achievements overview window. I really don't want to reset my profile and then power level back to level 15 just to unlock the achievement on Steam...

They're being advised to opt into the beta patch to fix things, but I'm unsure if it actually works and also works retroactively for achievements that are already out-of-sync.
It it does work, then perhaps Nival goofed and updated the server end in some way that breaks compatibility for achievements with the stable release of the game. (In which case; shame on them.)

I had the same temporary connection loss and switch into offline mode when I first started the game yesterday. It quickly fixed itself, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was related. And I agree, I don't particularly want to play this game at all until they get achievements working again.

Huh... So the offline mode happened to other people as well. That makes it less of a fluke and, taken together with the advise to the Russian guys to update to the beta patch, more likely that something was fudged during some kind of server maintenance.


Can we please get a developer contact in here to shed some light on things?

I like PW:Defenders a lot, but I'm seriously not investing more time into it until we get some clarity on when/how/if the situation regarding achievements will be resolved and/or rectified...

Ive only had this game for 2 days, but i have already unlocked about 60 achievements ingame, i thought they were just ingame achievements, but realised just now their actual achies, but steam hasnt picked up on em yet either. Hope the Dev fixes that soon. (Been really addicted to this game)

Since a few days, I am unable to unlock achievements in Steam.
Does anyone know how to opt into the patch beta?
Without the code there seems to be no actual beta running.

Thank you all for chiming in. Hopefully if they see just how many people are having this issue, they'll actually do something about it. I know I'm not the only one who will strictly not be playing it at all until the achievements are fixed.

Just started the game up again, multiple times, to see if they'd fixed it yet. They haven't. Still no achievements. This is very frustrating, as I'm dying to play more of this game and work towards 100%-ing it.

Achievements are a big part of it. They're one of the most appealing factors of this game for many people, especially those who value completion, and/or those who are OCD.

Achievements can motivate one to play a game where they otherwise might have stopped playing thus stretching out the value. For me, this is a game I might have given up on long ago as my backlog is full of much better Tower Defense games. Nothing against Prime World though I still like it but may as well play those other games.

I completely agree. I do love this game, but with the achievements not working, that inconsistency is far too bothersome for me. Until this is worked out, I'll be taking my tower defense needs elsewhere.

The only achievement that matters is being top of the leaderboard. Which unfortunately is impossible. As the score is hacked. If I was OCD enough, I would be happy with being second. But I am not.

That's probably a personal preference. I'd rather beat my friends on a map than have the 20 3-starred achievement (which I am still missing). Once I beat my friends then I move onto the next map.
