HELP..Game was fine...after a week it crashes

been enjoying tropico steam edistion for a week. but now it says that windows has a problem and the game closes. i have read some of the help topics but none of the sudjestions seem to help. I do not use a second monitor and the game still crashes in Compat mode

just installed it, crashes on launch

I think since the game got so widely spread (for free?) it crashes.

Doubtful that's the reason. The game doesn't use Kalypso launcher and shouldn't do or care about anything online when in single player (beyond standard Steam stuff which handles way, way, way more players every day). The only thing the more players means is there's more opportunity for someone to have problems. Unfortunately without more info on the crashes and system info, I don't know if people can help much here.

I never said it was BECAUSE of that, I said it was SINCE that. I understand the confusion though. But it still sucks for everyone :').
