Such a let down
You dropped the ball. It's a fun story, but there's no replayability, more bugs than a campground in summer and that generally equates to a waste of my $20. Maybe Kickstarter can give you some more money to get it done right next time, but I'm through with both Steam and this game until you can demonstrably produce a game that has at least been playtested by 9-year-olds.

My answer could be a quote from "The Exorcist", but i fear that's too rude for Steam forums.

The only glitch i met was the spells incredible slowdown in the mission you meet bugs for the first time. I replayed 5 times the campain with different templates, the last on very hard and enjoyed it everytime. I appreciated most of UGC i tried.
It's a great platform with tons of potential, the best it yet to come for this game $20 well spent

No, it isn't, and the best workshop projects are getting abandoned 2 months on, and not one of them completed more than a fraction of a campaign, except for Life On A Limb, which was a brilliant buggy mess that the creator has since walked away from.

Before taking anything deadsanta says to heart, check his history of comments. This is someone with more time to hate on this one game, than time to play games he might enjoy more. Plenty of chummers are loving the game and the UGC, and there's a strong community of modders and GM's continuing to develop really excellent UGC.

If you're looking for some good user generated content to expand your Shadowrun Returns experience, start with the following five, which are just the tip of the iceberg! ^_^

Jacked Up
LoneStar Double Indemnity
The Shadows
Trivia Night
Truth Lies in the Shadows

Though, there is one truth to his comments, albeit not as he presented it. Steam workshop has been giving modders headaches, so quite a few UGC developers have moved their projects to their own websites to freely download, or they're moving their focus to Nexus Mods ( http://shadowrunreturns.nexusmods.com )

I encourage UGC developers and modders to stick with it on Steam, as it reaches more chummers, and eventually Valve will pull their !@#$ together and fix the problems, while ALSO posting on Nexus Mods. It benefits the entire community when your content is available from more than one source! And Thank You chums for all the excellent work you're putting out! <3

I agree. I understand this type of game isn't for everyone, but HBS seems to have created a good game and the UGC is continuing to improve week by week. I've enjoyed getting to try out new character types in the original campaign. Yes, the game can be short for a $20 game if you don't read and don't put any effort into trying out the UGC. I love what this community has done so far and can't wait to see what other adventures are coming.

hmmm, i have to agree with poster. Just not nearly as upset about it. The base story mode is way to short and you barely get into the world before its over. I played 1 or 2 workshop chapters...not really impressed. I liked the Echo one but its done in time flat and your dont get to do much. Which is the main problem for me ..you really dont get to do much much... imo you have to be a real fanboy to play through the story mulitple times even with a different character type. Theres just not enough variety. I did like that they had the main guy from the super nintendo version interact in this game albeit he must thought your character was a chump cause his mission was more involved lol.

What the hell does steam have to do with any of this? It's not steam's fault the game isn't as good as it could've been.
RClovesShadowrun 30. aug. 2013 kl. 16.24
Hoi Haborym!

Some of the benefits of the game are supported by two Steam Services, the Steam Cloud (for gamesave backups and syncing across pc's) and the Steam Workshop. Both have been undergoing massive back-end updates, with tons of bugs popping up, ruining the experience for some gamers, and making things difficult for the developers and UGC creators/modders which also affects players. This isn't hating on Steam, as most of us wish the services worked as they should and look forward to when they do. It's just a fact that Steam has some issues with two of the services that are part of the experience players have with Shadowrun Returns, and it's driving a few UGC creators away from Steam, and on to providing their content elsewhere, primarily http://shadowrunreturns.nexusmods.com - though I think they should maintain their content on both services as it benefits the community most to do so. ^_^

Regarding that STEAM WORKSHOP, it is a horrible way to deliver mods. Some games like Skyrim for example will save scripts and settings from mods and if a modder removes a script because it is no longer needed or combines different scripts into one or even just renames it the Skyrim saves will still store those scripts and they will continue to run and cause issues down the road. I don't know if this game does it but it is a huge problem for Skyrim. The automatic update is horrible if a mod requires a clean save between version updates. Nexus NMM is a much better method of installing mods. It also allows you to change load order and frankly its easier to keep track of mods.

This game put me of buying another kick starter remake of my old favorite isometric style game, thats the real shame about this game tbh.
