You are correct! im on the same map 3 times after being on it an hour each time... very anoying. But i guess if i was never distracted and could plant myself like a potatoe in front of my screen for 12 hours at a time, it may not be so noticable ^^
Indeed. Checkpoint save system in a RPG is a monster fail. I was very much looking forward to this game. And then I read about the checkpoint save system... Let's just say that I'm glad I didn't pre-order this game.
Yepp. I have no desire to replay a whole area of the game just because I had to shut down the game for whatever reason and wasn't able to save.
I'll wait and see. If they change the save system to let you save when and where you wish then I'll buy it. But not before that.
A lot of young gamers out there. Modern games have made us soft. Remember when they didn't have saves at all? It lends more to a sense of self preservation. If you can just reload last save from 5 secs ago you can go charge in guns blazing...oh well. You have to go back 20mins? Hrm I better think this through, I might die. It also reminds me more of PnP RPG. If you die in a PnP your character is generally dead dead unless you have a kindly old GM.
