Controller Support?
Does this support the 360 controller?

Thanks for the link. That's very unfortunate. Was hoping to play this game and figured they'd have controller support for sure given the climate of today. Maybe the devs will address / add this in a patch...

:( seriously we need controller support!
Why? It's turn-based, point and click. What point would there be to using a 360 controller? All you'd ever use is A, B and one of the thumbsticks.

Or do you have your computers hooked up to a TV and want to play it from a couch? In that case, just get a lap-table or something and a wireless mouse (or at least one with a very long cord).

there are a few apps for pc that make controllers usable with games that dont support them natively. you basically just map keyboard keys to the controller and use one of the sticks as your mouse. i forgot what its called but google should help :)

But I don't think Shadowrun'll even use any keys beyond Escape to get at the menu. From what I've seen it's literally the same control scheme as the iPad version just with the mouse and left-click in-place of your finger.

XCOM: Enemy Unknow is turn-based strategy on both consoles ;) Just saying!

My computer is hooked into my home theatre at all times. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse to game. Controllers are nice for some games though.

^ Same. I have a laptop tray/pad I got from Ikea, fits my wireless fullsize kb just fine, and the underside has a cushion that forms to your lap, and I use a laptop/tv tray that overlaps my right armrest slightly that I use for my wireless mouse. I do use a 360 controller for "some" singleplayer or non-competitive games.

@Kalcijs, yeah but have you noticed how much easier it is to place units and issue commands with m/kb compared to using the gamepad, they did a good job w/ the bindings for the gamepad but issuing orders and moving units is much more precise and responsive with m/kb.

Xpadder would probably work just fine w/ this game though, if you really really cant possibly play without a controller.

I still would prefer controller support for turn-based strategy games because unlike RTS you can take your time and think out your next moves! Also there are some people (like me) who simply can't play strategy games with m/k because of carpal tunnel syndrome!

Yes to all the reasons above. I prefer gaming with a controller, spend 99% of my time on a k/m at work - so like to take a break from that (RSI), and have my machine hooked up to the media room zone. This game looks great, just wish it had native keyboard support. Since the devs have been listening to fans so far, I'll hold out hope that they'll add this. I think basic support would be trivial and help set them up for an eventual ouya / shield / ... release.

This game HAS to get controller support! If the developers intended to make an oldschool Shadowrun game, then what would it be without the feeling of a gamepad?
SNES Shadowrun was one of the greatest games back then. Good old memories *sigh* :D

I'd rather them focus on making the content great than worry about tangents like controller support.

Just get XPadder, then map the mouse to a stick, and the mouse buttons to X and A. There you go. Just like playing Shadowrun on the SNES.

Alternatively (if the game uses nothing but the mouse) you could get one of those handheld trackball mice. I haven't tried one out, but I was considering getting one for ScummVM.

What do you need a controller for?
