How to play UGC or update game version??

So I only have Shadowrun Returns and I have no idea what game version I have as steam doesn't tell me and nor does the client. This may sound really noobish but can someone tell me how I find it?

I'm asking because I'm assuming I'm on v1 or something because all the UGC I have downloaded say they need a version higher than 1 to work and everytime I try to launch the UGB campaign it just goes back to the main menu.

Right click the game in your Library, select Propeties. All of the options for updates and opting into or out of patches should be there.

You can find your version within the game by opening the PDA (power button in the upper left of the screen). The game version is near the top of the PDA.

Regarding the UGC, check their Workshop pages to see if they have any other dependencies; some packs require you to install other packs before they will run.

Your version stays up-to-date. The only reason you get kicked out from UGCs is that you aren't subscribed to whatever dependencies the mod has.

I did the manual approach to find & unpack as newbie. Nice to read how much effort I wasted. x-)
