Devs? DEVS? DEEEEVS??
Did they end up abandoning this or something? I finally got a little bit of free time and decided to check back and see if they'd hotfixed 8.8, and it turns out they haven't yet. No news on Paradox's forums either. If unfixed 8.8 is the final version I'm just gonna figure a way to downgrade back to 8.7 to avoid issues and port the major change (level randomization) to 8.8 the way they did it.

When devs are silent, it's usually because they're too busy. I guess it's because they're working on a new game. The ending of Teleglitch hints at a sequel.

If you look at the pinned posts, one does say they have a hard time being active on Steam since they're such a small group of people and that you should visist the official forums if you feel like you're not getting a response within a reasonable ammount of time.

Don't panic, I took a short break, i'll start tomorrow with new strength.
What are the main issues you're having with the new version?

Bugs in current version as far as I can see (Debian Linux):

RSG invariably makes the game CRASH on level change to level5. I got the game from Desura, but I'm playing via Steam.
Fairly common crashes during startup if you click on the first blue screen (to skip it).
Nailguns can be reloaded even with full magazine.

When you go to menu > Info (to read in-game lore), THE LOGS ARE ORDERED ALPHABETICALLY instead of by level, or anything else which would make the menu useful.

You can't use Page Up and Page Down to scroll through list of enemies or craftable items.

What Gryzomir said, additionally the change to SDL2 caused numerous minor graphical issues, the most noticeable being the item selector being shaped wrongly and certain highlights for items and closets being extremely faint. Also tons of people are reporting crashes of all kinds, especially on Linux.

I have also encountered this on Ubuntu 12.04LTS, though I generally just lose sound.
