Optimisation sucks.
Shadows is buggy on ATI graphic cards.
Problems with multiplayer servers.
Team 17 is lazy and don't want to fix anything.
But that is best Worms game for now. We just don't have anything better.

It is a pretty well known issue that optimization for this game is bad. It requires specs much higher than it should just to run the game smoothly, and even when it is running as it should, it still has framerate caps and lots of lag time when any turn ends with water moving/flowing/etc.
