*Spoilers* Bandit Boss

After one of my members gotten bit, they abandonned the group. Much much later, after the airbase, an event happens. A familiar voice calls out "aren't you forgetting something?"

You fight a horde of melee bandits and one with a mortar and riot shield. Only while the boss is firing mortars you can damage them. After you win, you have the choice to forgive, or to shoot.

You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right I didn't shoot, I don't need more blood on my hands


TL;DR

Bandit boss apparentely happens after someone wanders off from the gorup and can't be found me thinks, but it was very emotional for me

I can confirm this. One of your party members must leave, then after the airbase you'll have an encounter with the Bandit Boss.

The Bandit Boss is actually your former party member and if you forgive him he rejoins the party. I don't know what happens if you shoot him though. And I don't know what happens if you lose.

Can you encounter the bandit King from the redwood forest place before safe haven as well I wonder...

I want to know is, how do you make sure you don't shoot him/her?
Someone wanted to do that, but the game didn't let him.

Do you find the Bandit King scavenging or just on the road (like the car based party attacks--i.e. the zombie deer, etc)?
If it's scavenging is it at the Air Base or do you just stop and scavange on the road?
