Why can´t I use the triggers to speed up and brake?

currently broken. Sorry about that. Try joy2key or xpadder.
I just mapped the single Z axis to "Accelerate and Brake (Analog)". Seems to work. RT is accelerate and LT is brake.
I use xpadder and it works fine :)
I use X for gas A for brake.

Select = Menu
Start = Restart
B = Horn
Y = Scoreboard
Right analog stick Press = Opponents on/off
Right shoulder = ghost on/off

And I could be wrong, but mapping the gas to RT seems to be optimal because it's analog, and as such, you can vary how much gas you put-in. Really useful for helping get around some corners optimally (although, I guess you might be able to do the same thing if mapped to a digital button, and used with some finesse).
There is no variance on gas or brake. You press them at all with any button, regular or analog, and it's 100%. There's no middle ground.

Only for steering does analog work like that.

Exactly. Triggers work as digital, not analog.
So the triggers won't work for this game?

I'm a complete idiot with things like this. And even I figured out that option within 10 seconds of hitting up the alter key bindings page.

The # of buttons set to the same options does seem a little crazy if you don't mind me saying so lol.

This is surely incorrect. The acceleration and braking is either 100% or 0%, just like pushing a key on your keyboard. Mapping to an analogue trigger should not allow you to have variance.

The game is old school, no analogue acceleration :)

This ensures consistency for ALL players.
is there any way to get the force feedback effects to work on the 360 pad?
the triggers work but they do not work at the same time,if pressed together along with any other button the controls cancel each other out and the car stops responding,also there is no anolog accel break in trackmania like others mention.

the force feedback is broken,it will sometimes work for a few seconds then stop

you could use xpadder and map your triggers to keyboard keys,also you can map your dpad to the arrow keys and this will allow you to use the dpad to steer (use this is you are used to keyboard steering)

like most things in trackmania (broken) just have to live with it i am afraid
