Reporting Bugs and Deleting Saves
Run across a bug in the latest version of GODUS? Have some general feedback you want to offer to the developers? Got a burning suggestion or feature idea you want to toss our way? Or just have some general questions/compliments/frustrations? Then certainly feel free to get in touch and we'll do our best to reply back to you as quickly as we can.

A Note Regarding Crashes
If you're experiencing any kind of crash we'll need three things from you for sure:
  • Your system information
  • Your save files
  • Your verbose files
You can find out information on how to get these files below. These files are crucial for the team investigating your crash. In fact, even if you're not experiencing a crash, it's a good idea to include these files just for good measure anyway.

How to get in touch with us
Here are all the best places you can get in touch with us for bug reports, feedback, and questions (all the following are clickable links):
  • 22cans Support[support.22cans.com] - This is the best route to go to ensure someone from the team sees your message. We have people monitoring this daily and we do our best to reply back as quickly as we can.
  • Support@22cans.com - If you prefer email then this is your best bet to have some developer eyeballs take a look at your message.
  • Twitter - If tweets are more your style then feel free to get in touch here.
  • Facebook[facebook.com] - We monitor all Facebook comments and messages as well.
  • The Forums - Naturally, the forums are always a totally fine option as well. Because of the volume of traffic the forums get we usually prefer players to submit bug reports via the support channels up above, but for general discussion (especially when chatting with other players), feel free to use the forums to your heart's content.

Lastly, if you want to get in touch with me personally, here's where you can reach me:
  • Steam - Drop me a message through my Steam profile or leave me a comment any time.
  • Twitter - Give me a follow or drop me a tweet and I'll be sure to give it a look.
  • Facebook[facebook.com] - I use Facebook primarily for work stuff, so feel free to add or follow me if you like.

What to include in your bug reports
Got a bug report you want to send our way? Awesome! Having the players get in touch with their bugs is immensely helpful in getting them all squashed and sorted. We do ask that you include some basic information for us whenever submitting your bug reports so that we can immediately get to work on a solution for you. Here's some info we encourage you to include:

SYSTEM INFORMATION
If you're on Windows, we'd love to get your DxDiag report. You can get this report by doing the following:
  • Click “Start”
  • Click “Run” or, if you don't have "Run", type the following into the search bar
  • Type in “dxdiag” and click “OK” or hit "Enter"
  • Check through the tabs and perform all tests
  • Click “Save all information” and save the text file
  • Attach that text file with your bug report

If you're on Mac, we'd love to get the model you're using and your system information, which can be found via the following way:
  • Click the Apple symbol in the top left corner of your screen
  • Click "About This Mac"

YOUR SAVE GAMES
In most cases, your save games will also be extremely useful for the team. Sometimes save files won't generate depending on the bug, but if your game did generate save files then it's usually a safe bet to attach them to your bug report.

If you're on Windows, you can find your save games at the following location:
  • Program Files
  • Steam
  • SteamApps
  • Common
  • Godus
  • Windows
  • Attach any folder starting with "prf" (making a .zip or .rar of this folder is preferable)
  • If you're experiencing a crash, feel free to attach any recent "verbose" files as well

If you're on Mac, you can find your save games at the following location:
  • In Finder, open the "Go" menu
  • Select "Go To Folder"
  • Type "~/Library/Application Support/godus"
  • Attach any folder starting with "prf" (making a .zip or .rar of this folder is preferable)
  • If you're experiencing a crash, feel free to attach any recent "verbose" files as well

SCREENSHOTS
As they say, images are worth a thousand bugs. If you have a bug that can best be described visually, feel free to attach it to your bug report.

A THOROUGH DESCRIPTION
Feel free to get as detailed as humanly possible when submitting your bug report. What were you doing when the bug happened? Have you been able to reproduce it? If so, how? Did you manage to find a fix for it? What did you have for breakfast? A good rule of thumb is that we'd rather have more info than we need as opposed to not enough!

How to delete your save games to restart your homeworld
Every now and then you may wish to restart your GODUS game to workaround a bug or to simply start over with a new homeworld. To restart just find your save games at the following location and delete them.

If you're on Windows, you can find your save games at the following location:
  • Program Files
  • Steam
  • SteamApps
  • Common
  • Godus
  • Windows
  • Delete the folder that starts with "prf"
  • Delete any "ID" files

If you're on Mac, you can find your save games at the following location:
  • In Finder, open the "Go" menu
  • Select "Go To Folder"
  • Type "~/Library/Application Support/godus"
  • Delete the folder that starts with "prf"
  • Delete any "ID" files

Some advice for leaving feedback
We love getting feedback on GODUS and we want to encourage everyone to speak freely about their thoughts on the game. We're not just interested in what you like but we also want to know what you dislike; both are crucial to helping make GODUS the best game it can be. That said, here's some overall tips for when you're wanting to give some general feedback beyond just reporting a bug (this can range from anything to feature suggestions, areas of the game you don't like, specific questions, and so on):
  • As always, be as detailed as you can with your feedback.
  • Try to offer insightful criticisms. "I feel that this could be done better because of x, y, and z." is much more helpful to the team than "Godus sucks."
  • In addition to your feedback, feel free to brainstorm some possible solutions in your message as well. We always love to see the various ideas that our community has for the game.
  • Have a screenshot that's applicable to your feedback? Feel free to attach it!
  • Don't hesitate to use the forums as a platform for your feedback. Bug reports are primarily handled through our support channels (and feedback is welcome there too), but the forums are definitely very well suited for not just giving feedback to the developers but also for having a discussion with your fellow community members. Even if we don't always post, we're always reading and lurking through the threads that are posted.

And remember: we're still very much in beta
Part of the fun (and challenge) of Early Access is that the game is a fluid thing right now. We'll be making changes regularly based on your bug reports and feedback. Now that we've started working on the 2.x series of updates for GODUS, things are definitely going to be picking up steam (no pun intended) and we're going to rely on the community to help us make the kind of game that we at 22cans and the community envision. Thanks in advance for all your bug reports and feedback and, as always, feel free to reach out to me for anything you need. See you around the community!
