Community Herald: Volume Twenty - They probably won't talk to us again (Year 4, Week 12)

Twenty weeks later and the situation is as bad as ever. People are still leaving the company, 22Cans are still cutting communication channels even further and it has been exactly 1 year since the last Godus opt-in update.

More people leaving 22Cans

According to Andy Walkers LinkedIn profile he also left 22Cans in March. Of course there's no official news on the subject.

Mods aren't allowed to talk to us

Lord Ba'al, the head of the community driven uncensored forum about Godus (and later other games as well), learned that the mods Aynen and Muir are not allowed to talk to us there. On whose orders or to what extent isn't clear.
They also don't seem to be willing to answer any questions surrounding the subject or even talk to us about what they know about the company's current state.

Peter got greedy. If they focused on PC for the main game they could have avoided restrictions on design and the DeNA debacle. A mobile version could have come later.

How sad that people are being put out of work because of him. He must have a personal net worth of a few million as I read he lives in a stately home somewhere. He should pay to keep those people in work out of his own pocket.

It's been a long long time since i last checked in on godus (around 2.5years), and I must say i'm still disappointed about the state of things. I was really hoping 22scams would up their game, but sadly they seem to be too incompetent to do so. shamefull display.

To see that mods/ community managers are not allowed to interact with part of the community anymore truly amazes me. This whole clusterlovermaking is a very good example for indie devs how not to go about a project.

i have learned my lesson regarding the fame and name of certain devs, now let's hope 22scums have learned theirs.

Exactly one year has passed since the last (Zen) Godus game update and the Wars version also reached a month of inactivity.
As expected there's no official word from the company, so I'd like to highlight a post made by Crumpy Six[godus.boards.net] on the subject of their outdated website.

On the subject of "how not to PR", how about abandoning your corporate website, leaving it horribly out-of-date and continuing to spread outdated, inaccurate and misleading information?

The "latest news" is dated June 19th 2015. They haven't even bothered reporting their own massive Godus Wars release. In the update they discuss the concept of combat taking place in a world other than Homeworld or Weyland, but "Godus Wars" as a separate game isn't mentioned at all.

The "about us" page is nonsense. Probably more than half of these people are no longer employed by 22Cans. Early Access encourages potential buyers to do research into the game and use the available information to make an informed decision about whether to take the risk. By abandoning the team page, 22Cans is effectively lying about the amount of resourcing committed to the game.

22Cans' failure to communicate is the same as being willfully dishonest when they are well aware that the available information is hugely misleading.
