Updates to Quake guides
This is more or less the "Baker Update", since I'm mainly adding links to things created by "Baker" (a Quake engine coder).

I added more description about using some of the available installers for ezQuake and DarkPlaces. More interestingly though, I also added links to a couple of installers that Baker put together for QuakeSpasm and ProQuake. These installers will automatically set up those engines to use the data files from your Steam copy of Quake.

See the guide for more details -- particularly: you probably don't want to use these if you are already using the "Ultimate Quake Patch" -- but FYI these are the links:
QuakeSpasm installer for Steam Quake owners: http://quakeone.com/proquake/Quakespasm_Steam_Easy_Install.exe
ProQuake installer for Steam Quake owners: http://quakeone.com/proquake/ProQuake4_Steam_Upgrade.exe

I changed the "Alternatives" section near the end to include a description of Baker's modification of FBCA (Frogbot Clan Arena) for NetQuake. FBCA is a much-improved version of the original Frogbot that plays better and supports hundreds of maps. I thought that FBCA was only available for QuakeWorld engines these days, but Baker's version is for NetQuake -- so if you like to play using NetQuake engines like DarkPlaces, QuakeSpasm, DirectQ, etc. then this is worth checking out as an alternative to FBX++ or Omicron bots.

I need to find the time sooner or later to take a close look at Baker's FBCA and then rewrite the main body of the guide to include it, but in the meantime here's a link to the mod: http://quakeone.com/proquake/frogbots-099.zip
And this map pack will come in handy: http://eclecticmenagerie.com/jl/quake/bots/FrogbotMapPack.zip

One more new thing to mention while I'm here...

There are a few Quake/QuakeWorld wikis already, but another one has popped up at http://quakewiki.org

This new wiki has some general Quake info in it, but it has a particular emphasis on mapping, modding, and engine coding. That info has often been scattered around and hard to find, so if you're interested in that sort of thing you should definitely give this wiki a look.

The guys working on the wiki discuss it in this thread at Func_Msgboard: http://www.celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=60913&start=205
