Run on windows 8?

Does this game run on a windows 8? I know Doom doesnt because it used to run on a DOS computer, which quake did too and I cant get doom to run which is why I deleted it. So if it doesnt have a way to run on a windows 8, is there a way to fix it? because doom had a way to fix that.

The DOOM sold on Steam actually does run on Windows 8 through a program called DOSBox.

Quake runs pretty much perfectly on Windows 8 although there is some missing music which is a shame. I haven't been able to find a patch for that myself that would give me a completely vanilla experience. If you are fine with not having music you should be able to enjoy Quake on your modern computer.

i have a sega saturn version which has the awesome *** music but controlls like crap, I cant even get past the first stage because of these awful controls. So I am pretty sad there are also some missing tracks because the music is awesome. And thanks for telling me :). By the way I also want to know how to mod this game. You dont have to type it out you can just give me a video from youtube.

You might wanna read this guide. It will help you get the music to run, and loop on a operation systems like Vista all the way up to Windows 8.1. But you will still have to find the songs online though, Which is pretty simple if you look around.

I dont know the stages songs, I never watched a lets play and didnt I say I couldnt get past the first stage on the saturn version? besides, I still like the game without the music, I could look up the songs on youtube and play the songs while im playing. Oh yah and I only have windows 8 not 8.1 but I know this will still work.

You must of misread my post, When I say "Vista all the way up to Windows 8.1" That means it will run though Windows Vista Windows 7 Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. And I know you played the saturn version of the game but only on the E1M1. And finding the soundtrack online with out even knowing what it sounds like is pretty dang easy to be honest. But if you ever felt like you really wanted the complete soundtrack, I can always upload it for you on mediafire. To help you out on setting it up.

thanks :) I kind of want soundtrack anyway because it gets kind of boring having to fight the shambler over and over again because I keep dying with out any music. And can you give a link to that sound track?

I dont understand the guide you gave me. I have your soundtrack and I am using the guide you gave me for the music to start playing but I cant get the music to play. I think im doing it correctly but it is still not working.
