Quake HD Remix (Released)
I am currently compiling Quake HD Remix utilizing resources from Quake: Epsilon Build and Quake HD plus some resources I have had for a while and have spent hours toying with the Cvars to make the game look the best I can get the Darkplaces Engine to look.

When I am finished I will upload the mod to the internet and share the download link with the Steam Community.

Here are a couple of screenshots from The Slipgate Complex to wet your appetites.

NOTE: A High-End Rig with tons of ram and killer GFX setup (Dual GFX Recommended) will be required for efficent gameplay and this will be fully compatible with Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity

EDIT: The mod has been finished but I forgot about this particular thread untill it came up in my notifications today. You can find the mod, screenshots and full credits to all the authors of the resources compiled in the mod here:

I have finished the mod! :D:

It will now got to my friends for Beta testing. I will upload to the internet (With Full Version Data Removed for Legal reasons) A.S.A.P. :D: :ss13ok:
This mod is over 6Gb in size!
Also this mod can be directly copied to the Steam version of Quake. But for some reason when doing this it disables soft shadows and bumpmapping because the exe is Darkplaces.exe renamed to GLquake.exe and because the exe being used is not called darkplaces.exe the shadow and bump effects won't work.

Note: If used in steam Disable Steam's ingame feature as it causes havok with darkplaces. (run from steam client and select GLquake)

On the positive side when used in steam it runs fine on a Mid-End rig. (as the shadow and bump effects are the most taxing) :D:

But this isn't really a mod, it's a compilation. I assume you've told the creators of these mods/add ons and checked that you can release their content?
I have stated this is a compilation and full credit goes to the authors of the resources. (detailed list of author credits in readme as well.)
Alright then, so why would the average quake player rather download this than the SMC?

Since that's smaller, and looks just as good.
That is entirely up to the user.

just unpack the zip files to a folder of your choice, and copy the pack files from your steam quake into the corresponging folders in Quake HD Remix.

Example:

the .PAK files from "steam\steamapps\common\quake\ID1" go to "games\QuakeHDRemix\ID1"

and the .PAK files from "steam\steamapps\common\quake\HIPNOTIC" go to "games\QuakeHDRemix\HIPNOTIC"

and the .PAK files from "steam\steamapps\common\quake\ROGUE" go to "games\QuakeHDRemix\ROGUE"

the demo data is included in the remix for those that don't own quake so they can try the first episode of the base game.
