Trying to decide if I like this game

So the game had an interesting premise and I was hooked by it being talked up on some youtube channels. But I'm trying to figure out what this game is about. It seems like there's a lot of grinding involved and even if you learn the rules of the seeds or the level, there's a very large element of chance in what seeds you get. And then you can bring back a crappy or useless haul and have to do it over again. And again and again.
It just seems like there's a lot of again happening and I kind of want to move on. Maybe I've missed the point but the level of randomness seems to remove the ability to make meaningful decisions. One island, I ran out of seeds before I'd even seen a star.

If you set up a stable farm of pink, you should be OK. Many of the islands make large harvests easy, check out:

A 20 minute run, and that's more than enough to link up everything in the hub. If you're not able to farm well enough to bring back a decent crop, that probably means you're not good enough at the core game to take on the challenge levels yet though, which is the larger goal.

I found it boring..nothing really interest me with this game...and i know i not really gave it a chance..played about 2 minutes and thought boring...but thats me it gets rave reviews so am missin something or its not for me....

It's a game where the game only opens up if you really sit down and think about it, then it rewards you. However, I've been struggling to enjoy it. I love the philosophy about the way it rewards you in its design, but the execution is a bit off for me.
