Cross region play/Extreme lag
Sometimes when joining a party I experience response time that literally ruins the game.
Enemies don't shoot back while I can kill them with a 1s~ delay, walking through laser blockades, minimap show allies as enemies (or not at all).

Is this because of cross region play or the host using dial-up?

Either way it is a problem because I am forced to join that game if its an alert mission since I cant start a game myself except for playing solo which I might not want to do.
Leaving the game counts as a mission failed which I don't like.

Is it just me, what is the reason behind it and will it be fixed?

Yeah I hate that as well. If I am not playing during the prime time, I just open a game and afk until someone joins. That way I will be the host and no lag.

Well thats the problem, if there are already games played on the level then you cant just make your own.

Or did I miss something obvious?
Guys, Warframe runs on Peer to Peer, not server based. One person acts as the host, the others join that host.

I know and I never stated otherwise?
The game puts me with a host that gives me a 3s latency over letting me host my own game.

Did you even read my post?

If the match making system is a bit better with sorting out the connections. For example, letting the player with the best connection host, and sorting out where people are connecting from and letting them host when there are no available hosts nearby.
The matchmaking system should atleast take into account bandwidth and CPU power every player has, so it chooses a propper host before the game starts. And not bloody loose all mods on host migration.
I think perhaps Warframe drops everyone into NA East by default, so joining randoms there can pair you with a host on the other side of the world. Unfortunately that's where I live. But I get better sessions consistently when I switch to the NA West region, although it seems slightly less populated.

Totally agree with this, host migration should be rock solid, and happen before a mission begins to choose the best overall host for everyone's benefit. Obviously not much help if you join a mission in progress, but this would help a lot with the overall experience.
The horrible lag in some games is mostly down to the speed of the host machine.

Of the many games I've played only 1 has been virtually lag free; the host in this case was a guy in the US running a i7-960 OC'ed to 4GHz.

So please, if you don't have a fast computer (i5+, 3.5GHz+) don't host!
just suffered this at this hour of the day, damn this has forced me to think that i had a serious problem with my newly purchased gamebook. thx wf. anyway its worrst to see this has become general. wts lag thx :))
