Stuck on Mysterious Murder suspects

I talked to the mortician and got the list of 4 suspects. But I've tried going to all 4 plus Arhu and there's no dialog changes or journal updates. I'd also burgled 3 of the living spaces (cant pick Evelyn's door yet) before reaching this step, didn't get any plot item there either.

I thought maybe I'd go look for that cabin they bought, but after some tough fights with undead 4 levels higher than me outside the city, I thought maybe that's not the right direction just yet either.

What am I missing?

I've got the letter out of the chest. I talked to Esmerelda about it already.

If you have pick the back door to Esmeralda, you would be able to find some plot item there. Then talk to Esmeralda.

You don't have to pick that door. Her place has an upstairs that is worth checking out...

Ahhh, is there another enterance to her locked shop area? I looted her upstairs bedroom, but couldnt pick the downstairs shop. Will check that now.

The key is actually upstair if you can't pick lock.

I missed the backdoor cause of the camera angle and roof. I thought I had to pick one of the ones in front of the guards, ie couldnt stand there for 5min and blast it down and I didn't have the picking skill.

Just finished looting the room and found the book now, hopefully this will move it to another quest step.

Book is one of 2 items you need to find inside her place :)

Oh, I killed the rat for xp. :) But I found the button. Good old visible hidden rooms.

And rabbits are on drug. I found one Rabbit that claims it's a Dragon. Another is a mate rabbit that troll the troll.
