Is there a reason why the "Ultra" setting keep falling back to "high" after restarting the game??

i cant seems to run ashes, because its says it is already running
any suggestions (i will restart my pc to see if it will fix itself) also i have done that for the steam.

nope it wont allow me to run it something is preventing from starting ashes (despite it saying running on steam.) but no screen is showing up.

open the task manager and look if there running 2 ashes.exe .if true close one.
or try the repair function from steam for the game.
or delete the installscript.vdf in the ashes folder.

same here no ultra possible..ive gtx 980

The ultra bug has been around a little while now, you can do a forum search.

Creature, did you try rebooting the computer? Very odd if that does not fix it.

was trying many options reboot don't work.change options in the settings.ini and read only dosnt work too.

i did, and right after that i validated the ashes, but i am still getting the same respons, (running ashes but no start screen is shown.

you try to start dx12?
maybe the fullscreen isnt opening.you see the icon from ashes in taskbar?maybe its only minimize?

i havent tried dx 12 because i dont use, also i do use window screen not a fullscreen.

try fullscreen.
or run exe as admin
you've tried all options?from the last post?
dx 12 is win10 only.
if steam says game is running try the combi alt+enter to show fullscreen.
hope some thing helps you.

try here the combi too..alt+enter so you maybe can switch to window mode
