This is awesome! They can get rid of GFWL and shrug Microsoft off of their shoulders. More people might be able to buy the game, and multiplayer can be done through Steam itself. Let's hope the switch is fast!

I have noticed the achievements are recently updated in steam, so I installed it yesterday, but still not completely remove GFWL yet.
But this is a good news anyway

Since GFWL is still active, and the global stats are at 0%, I'd say it's not possible yet.

Lee,
If they are important to you. You can get email or other chat-related IDs to migrate to an alternate form of contact. It would be worse if it just suddenly happened, but, in this case, you have some foresight. You can prepare for it.

Personally, I'm not above using pen and paper as a last resort... :)

I've checked a Joystiq article, apparently they're pausing their effort to port the game to Steam.

I installed it, but can't seem to run it. Lets just hope they don't drop it altoghether, who knows what'll happen to games that still didn't lose the GFWL thing....

Thanks for pointing it out. I found the article in question (click here)[www.joystiq.com]. Turns out, it's solid; they're switching this game to Steamworks, and it's only a matter of time.

Those games might be unavailable to play after July 1, 2014. :/
