Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

Gems
Are Gems useful for anything other than selling in this game? I've been hoarding them just in case, but I'm starting to think I'd be better off selling them instead.

IIRC nope,
the normal Gems/Jewels (that aren´t especially named) are just there to sell them to merchants
Rogue Stones are useful in BG2, and there may be specific quests that look for specific gems, but for the most part they're just cash items.
No special name or description? --> sell them
thats right
Great, thanks guys!
This is a mirror of the D&D rules, which account for you finding treasure that isn't immediately worth anything. The rulebook used to state "You find X GP worth of treasure," and this game actually represented that treasure by way of gems, rings, necklaces, etc. I thought it was a nice touch
Well gems and pearls and stuff were sometime spell/potion components in 1st ed. AD&D, so I thought there might be some sort of use for them in this game.
