Instantly crashes on Mac

Hi, I just bought the game and I can't even get it to start. I can't even make it to the main menu before it crashes.

I searched for similar issues but all the threads seem to be regarding older versions of the game.

I'm on a 13' Macbook Pro Retina
2.4 ghz Intel i5
16 GB Ram
Intel Iris 1536 MB

This could be a crash typical to Mac that you're having. It has not been fixed yet according to their ticket system. It says it's quitting unexpectedly?

You can try deleting the ...\(My )Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition folder and to make the folder again yourself, manually.

I have the same issue & tried the fix that buttertea suggested but to no avail :(

Kossiths, it depends on when/how it crashes whether this will work, it's about crashes just after character generation generally.

There are some tickets submitted for this problem, 23015[redmine.beamdog.com], and at the bottom of the history it links to 22139[redmine.beamdog.com]. As of yet, the only verified workaround there is the one already mentioned.
But maybe you'll get a better idea then whether that is your problem.

Just to be on the redundant side, here's the folder name again, it has to be exact:

Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition

There is another ticket (22238[redmine.beamdog.com]) which mentions, instead of manually adding the folder, making a new user account. It's not ideal, but you could try that as an alternative.

Or, it could be a different reason why you're crashing, altogether.
There's a good post on it on Beamdog, it's old, but it covers different problems with the launcher. Perhaps one of those errors is more similar to what you have and might give you an idea.

Now, that post gets too Mac-ish for me, and I can't judge how much is still relevant, so I'll give you the link[forums.beamdog.com].

I'd be interested in what, if anything, worked for you.
