Pickpocket Guide or NPC/Item list?
Pickpocketing messages have changed in BGEE, it no longer say whether or not the marked npc has an item or not. It's either Win/Fail/Or NPC has nothing your skill level can take(something like that). Years ago I had a list of NPCs' and their items, and have since lost it. So. > Looking for a recent (BGEE) list of pickpocketable items or the NPc's that have something (anything) on them.

Well, at least I can tell you that you can't pickpocket Drizzt for his Scimitars anymore (after the latest patch).
The number of NPCs who have guaranteed pickpocketable items is pretty small. Most NPCs only have some randomized inventory that corresponds to their status - peasants will on the whole have less than nobles, for example. But the same NPC in different games will have different stuff.

The big ones are in Ulgoth's Beard - there's a Ring of Free Action from the 'medidating' halfling woman, you can pick the Warhammer that Hurgan gives for beating the Demon Knight off him, and there's a runestone you can get from the vendor doing a going-out-of-business sale, as well as a whole bunch of scrolls from Shandalar.

Other than that, the amount of pickpocketable items that you can't get basically just as easily by killing the NPC holding it is pretty small. Algernon in Beregost is one you want to hit up for his very very useful cloak.
That's what I've been reading around so far, just a few notable items. So I guess there is no list available anymore plus it looks like no one has anything definitive to say, except the obvious repeated information. Well. The last resort is to scrub the files for the information, which I am not really sure how to go about doing or knowing what to look for. I wonder if someone has a pickpocket mod...
Sorry, I know this is a bit old but what pickpocket skill do you need for algernon's cloak? It says I don't have a high enough pickocket level.
50% should be enough. You can always use a potion of master thievery to boost it.
My thanks.
