Not starting

Just bought the whlole DOOm package. I click to play any of the games & it just stays at the start screen, no options or nothing. Do i need some MOD to make it run, i am on WIN8. What MOD is good to make it look prettier too, for when i get it running.

Same for me. Steam always doing it with users, sell games that not compatiple with Win 8.

Try running it in compatability mode. Just set it to run in compatability mode for lower versions on windows till you can find one which works. I know it solves some peoples issues.

Open ultimate.conf and ultimatem.conf with notepad and change fulldouble=true to fulldouble=false on both. it should work then, worked for me.

try when i get home but before i left, i did just get it to run using Doomsday. Looks prettier. How is it witht hat fix?

Even if you can't get the Steam versions of Doom to work, source ports (modifications of the Doom engine that are free) will still work because you have the Doom files on your PC.
