Doom 2 or Final Doom?

just finished doom all the way through for the first time (and did it again) and I LOVED it so I wanted to get doom 2...but then I saw final doom that claimed that it was doom 2 with two new, 32-level doom 2 episodes. so I don't know if I should get doom 2 or buy final doom or if final doom is an expansion or what so I would appreciate if I could have some advice (I do a lot of moding btw and I would also like the one that lets me mod it) thank you.

DOOM II is the most modable, as it has more textures than DOOM I expansions (even if they are bundled as stand alone).

Update: Final DOOM is actually a DOOM II expansion, bundled stand alone, but meh...

I would say about 99% of pwads are made for Doom 2, so it is probably your best option. Then when Final Doom goes on sale snag it too :)

Doom 2 is the actuall sequal to Doom and adds to he story of the Doom universe. Final Doom is just a couple chapters that (if I remember corectly) have nothing to do with the actuall story.

I would go for Doom 2 since it is the next game. Get Final Doom on sale Final Doom is also very Difficult so be prepared.
