March of the Eagles
Looks Intersting
I've not bought Crusader Kings because it really is not a time period that I am all that interested in and it looked like a management game more than anything else.

I am more interested in this time period and I've been looking for a good Napoleonic era game.

Is this more focused on warfare or is it heavy on trade, economy, politics, diplomacy and spying?

I'm a bit concerned about the OP UK navy can this game be modded to tone things down in the case of OP UK ships?

Go to paradox forums look for mods there (this is an all out war game) also you must regester ur game to get "proper" use of these forums.gl
The UK navy is not OP. It is a good reflction of its ability versus the bulk of other navies in Europe at the time. It is quite probable that it is smaller and less good than it should be. In several areas historical reality has been tweaked for game balance. For example Spain where the overall quality of the army is probably a touch good - more should be militia. The Ottomans where the army is way too small though the gamr country doesn't have the same scale of difficulty as historically.

I am meandering my way through my & friends & the data in the Combined Arms Research Library (From George Naftziger's OB collections etc) looking at 1805 or close actuals for the nations that I can get.

Back to the RN - good leaders, good ships with good game tech (reflecting their actual edge) vs some careless or out and out dumb play does not equal an over powered RN. Good play with a relevant focus makes the Game AI entirely beatable - The Danes and Spain are the two most likely cases for that from both mine and others experience.
I would not Recomend this game if you want a political game Because this is more of a War game. If you want somthing more Political get Victoria 2. Or better yet Europa.
