Hello fellow nostalgists. I have patched the COI.exe to run at 60 fps.

Worked for me as well. Tested only in windowed mode (bordless). Does it work on fullscreen mode ?

It would work in fullscreen mode if the game didnt force 30hz. Generally speaking, my patch removes the fps limiter, but the fps can only be as high as the refresh rate when vsync is on.

First, I'd like to thank you very much for the patched executable. Second, yes, it still forces 30hz (24hz through HDMI) when fullscreen is enabled, but with the borderless fullscreen tool, your fix works wonders. Controls are actually much more precise at 60fps, and it shows when you're jumping around on enemies heads to reach some place higher. Thanks again!!

I tried to use it, but it says that couldn't be installed because "steam_api.dll" is missing in my computer... I don't even know what's that D: can someone here help me? This FPS problem is very annoying :/

It's the dll that's in the Castle of Illusion folder with the COI.exe. If it's not in the folder you would just have to reinstall the entire game. The COI.exe you get in this thread should just be copied over the other one. It is located in the Steam folder, then steamapps > Common > Castle of Illusion
