GodMode not starting on NVIDIA GPU

Decided to install this game again on my recently bought laptop, since I had good memories of playing this game (although with a bad pc). Well, when I first started the game, it opened up, gave me a blank square, and then exited, no error or anything. After running down every forum and possible solution, I tried one last thing before uninstalling the game: try to run it with my integrated graphics unit, and to my surprise, it opened up and I could actually play. But why can't I play with NVIDIA? The last PC I owned had an ATI Radeon 3100 (or something) and was a GPU. Why can't I play with this GPU (NVIDIA GeForce 940 MX) and have to resort to my integrated graphics which gives me worse performance? Not sure if someone else has the same problem but I would be happy if someone has come across the same and would help me

tl;dr: Game doesn't open with GPU, only with Integrated Graphics. Help?
