You Need A Budget 4 (YNAB)

Statistiche:
Why is this here?
I see a lot of posts on this forum that seem like they were planted.. "This software is the best, gosh it sure is better than this other accounting software."

Is Steam really just gonna be throwing all kinds of junk at us now, software wise? I never saw this come across Greenlight and I have voted on every single game there, so I dunno what the heck the deal is.

At the VERY least give us the option to opt out of nonsensical software like this. If I want accounting software I'll look for it - Steam is not, nor do I think it should be, my go to for every-day software.

Hi Iosian,
We definitely were on Greenlight - under the software tab there.

We haven't planted anyone here, but we have a pretty rabid (I mean that in a nice way) fanbase. You tend to get those when you help people get their finances (and lives) under control.

You don't have to purchase this, it's not going to be in your Steam client, it will be in the store, along with the thousands of other games and apps that you have no interest in.

You can just ignore it if you don't want it :)
(Or you can check out the demo if you want - we also have a non-Steam version available on our website if you don't want to clog up your steam list)
why would anyone want to buy this softare on steam when its cheaper on "Non Steam" ??

thats stupid in my opinion .. Why would anyone want to pay more for it than its worth?
Where can you get it cheaper?
It's $60 US outside Steam, and $45 on Steam right now...
Mine def was not a plant. Go view my Steam games list, does that look like an account created just to hype a bit of software? YNAB is a genuinely awesome tool for people that need it. Not everyone needs it, but if you do it's very awesome.

Verify this.
Got to remember that Steam is now very popular with the younger generation, bringing a lack of perspective and experience.
losian, do you honestly not see the tend all the software on Steam is geared towards? It's for Indie Developers. From what I recall seeing, all the software on Steam can be used in some way to help develop games, whether it be actual programming software, or 3D modeling, or image and video editing or sorting. This software just helps developers plan out their budget.

I'm pleased Valve is offering this kind of support and hope they expand, although they do need a filter option for people, the same as with DLC.

Goodness knows I could use something like this, but at the moment I can't fit "You Need a Budget" into my current budget. :P
Well, many Gamers always say, that they don't have the money to buy a specific game.
This software could be useful for those people to plan their budget correctly.
Now people can buy their beloved games in the future, because of this software ;)

I don't see why this software should not be on steam?
It could be very useful. - like Dr Gero said, especially for Indie Developers
Given the number of tools available on Steam to make games, I can't say that I'm surprised to see some tools to help run a business. This seems like exactly the type of software an individual would need to use to get his or her "indie" label off the ground.
It is 60$ on website and 55€ on steam ( right now 42€ ) but the 25% discount wont last forever and 55€ is 70$
@ SickDevil.. People who need budget software already have searched for it on web.. think about it... it´s not like its free on steam .. you got to pay for it anyways
It should be 50 euro now, is that not so (we changed it earlier in the day because the exchange rate was so high)?
(I realise it may be slightly higher than $60US, but currencies fluctuate, so it's not massively over, and some days it may be under)
then it´s alright and really dosent bother me...

Frankly sir,
Your software has no place on Steam. We're gamers not accountants, and steam is for computer games not accounting software.

I don't know what kind of deal you made to get it on here, but frankly this is the stupidest thing I've seen on Steam to date. I seriously doubt that your going to get a good return on investment , But its your funeral so you do what you like.
