Monster Loves You!
Build 1787 Released
Hey everyone! I'm all rested up from our 36-hour crunch-launch, and I've been lining up a bunch of fixes for you. First up:

Build 1787
  • Badges (on the Main Menu) are now properly stored between games.
  • If you've previously lost badges, press the super-secret hotkey ("A") on the main menu to restore your progress.
  • The bug preventing your monster from visually growing up in some instances has been fixed.
  • Various black-screens and inabilities to continue are now fixed.
  • After ending the game you should no longer be able to continue playing.
  • Replaced unachieved badge text with a big "?" as to save you from spoilers.
  • Some narrative fixes (typos and missing branches)
  • Fixed neurosurgery text being for another badge
  • Fixed neuroscience popups from saying "ZEROED" at the same time as an upgrade

I've got more fixes on the way, too.

Thanks to everyone that has been reporting trouble so far. If you want to keep posting about future findings here, go ahead! I'll be monitoring things. Cheers!

Thanks for your hard work.
I played through the game once now and the fixes for badges work. I also got my monster to evolve once when it grew to an adult. Is there only supposed to be one evolution in a playthrough? There was no changes in the monster prior to reaching adulthood and it didn't change any when turned to an elder? I would have expected at least one more evolution - even more to be honest.
thank you for the fixes, now i can go back to playing it!
Thanks a lot Mr. Moore ;)
Alright, I've now played it through two more times and couldn't get my monster to evolve at all. Also, as an Elder I tried a mission to save a human and got both Neurosurgery +15 and Neurosurgery ZEROED at the same time.

Ema-tan, can you tell me the build number on the top of the titlescreen? Both those issues should be fixed if it reads 1787 or above.
I've had the neurosurgery bug too, and it says 1787 on the title screen. My monster evolved once (don't know how often they should, could be right?) from a blue blob into a cute little four eyed monster. Playing at elder stage now, seems good so far. The medals have re-appeared too! Thanks for fixing that!
I am also facing the neurosurgery bug where it is zeroed when you perform acts involving it. Also, if you choose to leave a ferocious legacy, the award is called Ferocious Legact instead of Ferocious Legacy. Just a minor typo :P

Same here. If there's only one evolution, I will feel a bit cheated. :/
Still, despite the bugs, this game has potential. Just wish they would've fixed this stuff BEFORE release. U -U
I played through once and failed to become an elder so I've been born again but now I cant grow into an adult because there are no more adventures for me to choose. I'm not sure if I should reset my monster from the options menu, or if this will just happen to me again? ):
I just became an ender, and the stat summary board says "uneen text"

I'm assuming that's not what it's supposed to say?
I'm glad you're updating fixes so quickly!

So you're aware: I used the super secret "press A" solution to regain my medals, but the fierce legacy medal still displays a typo ("legact" instead of "legacy").

Also, in the playthrough in which my monster started to flee Omen, but decided to return and 'fess up with maxed honesty, they threw it in the cauldron to dissolve - only for my monster to appear in town, unable to have further adventures, but definitely still solid. Pressing the adventure button basically told me there was to be no more adventures, and the only solution I could find in the end was resetting my monster. Even exiting the game completely and restarting gave me the option of continuing my dead-end game, rather than a new one.

Edit: And now for some reason, my monster's form no longer shifts between life stages, and even exiting the game completely no longer gives me new adventures. Also, helping the human woman in Carmen gives me neurosurgery points at the same time as it announces those points zeroed (as with several people above).

Perhaps I should take this as a sign that I have spent too much time playing this fun, fabulous game and ought to take a break. ;D

After the new patch, I don't seem to be able to resume my adventures as an elder. Is this a known issue? Do I need to restart my monster?
Another bug - when becoming an elder I asked about a way to slow the change, and did the fern quest for the doctor. After it ended the elders came and I asked them for more time. After the scene in my house I had the option to go to the doctor again, which let me do the fern quest a second time.
My monster finally evolved after I clicked on him (adult stage), and I got past the "not enough events" problem in the adolecence stage. But now I've got a day left of adult (2nd attempt) and I've run out of choices again. I've rebooted a few times but it's still got nothing to chose from.

Am I going to have to reset my monster and go back to playthrough 1? :\

Also yes, I checked and I'm running build 1787.

EDIT:
Ok, I reset my monster, and now I have the "not changing" problem again :\
