[SOLVED] To anyone experiencing slow start up, jerky menus, stutter and 1FPS after using the teleport.

I've never been able to play this game on my main Desktop computer.
The game was a stuttery mess causing noticable hard drive churning and massive frame drops in certain conditions like when a teleport is used.

I finally managed to punch in the right key words into google and stumbled upon this blog post:

If you experience similar problems, try adding the line:

/LOG:ERROR

Into your Default.cfg file in the root of your Worms Reloaded install folder.

Hopefully this also works for other people experiencing this issue.

Well that fixed the harddisk lag during changing speech banks or any other menu loads, now I just need it to stop checking all 1,685 files are up to date every damned time I load the game.

Have you tried verifiying the integrity of the game cache?

Yeah, have an OCD tendency to do that every now and again. Admittedly the file check has accelerated and now takes 5-10 seconds instead of 2 mins, I suspect your addition to the Default.cfg file sorted both probs. Cheers again, you Google so we don't have to :D

thank you ,this is useful in win7x64.
my problem is get into game -> wait for seconds with black screen -> click then display Team17 logo and become no response.may be cause the fps is so low that system judged this process is no responsing.

Solution: I set the file properties for wormsreloaded.exe to run in 640x480 (also compatibility for XP2 but that probably did nothing) and then manually set the video settings in the game to low performance, no v-sync and 1280x720

This is a copy and paste of my local.cfg (created after saving the new game settings in the game menu)

/H:720
/VSynchEnabled:0
/PERFORMANCE:0/
REFRESH:120
/FS

Seems to be working so far after closing down and reloading the game 👍

Hello there.
I just purchased the game, but it keeps on being unplayable after all the efforts made.
Well, actually i've never seen the battle ground once, since the menu is so sluggish that i cannot even write my name properly while creeating a new player profile...
I solved the resolution issue thanks to the high DPI setting.
I stopped the disk activity thanks to the /LOG:ERROR line in the Default.cfg file.
But that is all.
I created a local.cfg file (with the lines mentioned above) and set the .exe with those suggested settings, but to no avail...
Any idea please?
