I am actually beyond sick of this topic, it is asked at least every few days. The answer is "not in the foreseeable future." If you want to know why that is, please use the search function for one of the many, many, many threads asking the same thing.

I'll post what I usually post but scaled down.

3D Realms does not own Blood. There is also no source code release for Blood so it is beyond wishful thinking at the moment.

It is believed that Warner Brothers currently own the rights to Blood so even more wishful thinking that they will ever actually do anything with it.

Nope. It is not listed under Atari's properties, they more than likely only have publishing rights http://www.bloomberg.com/article/2013-05-29/at8nKJgr9h.w.html

These are also the list of the properties sold in the Atari auction http://www.scribd.com/doc/154934708/In-re-Atari-Inc-NOTICE-OF-SUCCESSFUL-AND-BACK-UP-BIDDERS-WITH-RESPECT-TO-THE-AUCTIONS-OF-CERTAIN-OF-THE-DEBTORS%E2%80%99-ASSETS126013701588 Rollercoaster Tycoon was not sold aka no one bid the minimum 3.5 million.

Hopefully Jace Hall gets his hands on the source code and we get a sweet ZDoom-style source-port. But you can buy the DOS version on GOG, it's not as good as a source-port but you can put the resolution up very high (for a DOS game)

You are right but:

You see they are just selling a bunch of their franchises, not all :)

Blood doesn't appear anywhere on that page.
Monsterfritteuse Jul 24, 2013 @ 12:53am
Yes, thats true, too, just wanted to point out the franchises on the documents aren't all.
And you are right that Monolith Productions was acquired by Warner Bros.:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monolith_Productions
But somehow someone sold the rights of the Blood franchise to Atari:

Atari has publishing rights, not the rights to "Blood" itself.

Hmm, ok, researched a bit, and you are right:
http://www.lith.com/Games/Blood
will ask Jaice about that..
Maybe Atari has the exclusive right to sell blood :S
Mandingo Warrior Jul 24, 2013 @ 1:04am
theres already numerous threads about it, just research them on steam. i seem to recall atari and whats left of monolith giving everyone the run around as to who actually owns it and is able to release the source code. its more of an issue of who owns the particular build engine as well as the publishing rights since they are owned by two separate entities. its really a big mess right now

jace has already stated he was under the impression that someone other than atari actually owns it, its in the forums but im to lazy to look it up at the moment
