How to make Lara run faster?

From Stella's excellent Tomb Raider site:

Sprint

0 (on number pad)/R2

When running press Sprint (same key as Look) for extra speed. This only works after Lara has gained the Sprint upgrade. (See Ability Upgrades, below. Laptop users, see note under Look, above.)

*Note that laptop users (without number pad) will need to remap the sprint key.

I'm afraid to update and my game doest work.
In win 7 has problem?

Actually, this is the only TR game that crashed on me (after a cutscene) and I couldn't complete it (Win7). You may want to install patches v42 and v45, if the game's not already patched. Didn't realize you had to update to remap keys, are you sure you can't remap in the Optins menu?

Well, I tried doing this: press the forward button + sprint. No avail. I have played this game once and now concludes, and remember that not downloaded any patch
I am very much afraid that these patches spoil the game because earlier today I had downloaded when I run a saved game appeared error message and had to download the game again [using google.translater]

It's been too long since I've played this, not sure how you reconfigure keys, but if you don't have a number pad you'll certainly need to remap 'sprint' from 0 to something else -- 0 is also the control for 'look' which is a very useful control.

Should be able to remap without the patch: "Customize Controls: The PC and Macintosh controls are customizable. Choose 'Controls' from the Options menu. Select the type of controller you're using and press Enter. Use up/down arrows to highlight the control you want to change, press Enter and then press the desired control. Press Escape to exit the menu."

Thanks for the attention, but by the way she just runs faster to download the patch. I've tried doing what you said and it did not work.
I will not risk the patch, I'm afraid to give problem in my game

Now yes, Lara can only run after she gets a breathing mask
