How do I use an Xbox 360 controller for playing?

I've tried to use an Xbox controller for playin', but my game doesn't detect it. Can some1 help?

Actually if the game does not detect the controller, something is wrong, because my game detects the XBOX controller just fine.

Make sure it's plugged in before you start the game.

You probably need the Xbox controller drivers for Windows. They're on the Microsoft website.

Not just that it is plugged in, make sure it's on before you start up the game. That usually fixes it for me.

Is it a Wireless controller? If it is, you'll need to buy a wireless receiver for your computer. I had the same problem with my wireless Xbox controller. The only way they'll work on your laptop/computer is if you buy a receiver.

You can find them on Amazon, luckily, although I had a hard time finding one made by Microsoft.
