Will episode missions disapear???

Does anyone know if the devs have stated wether the episode missions will disappear when the show starts?

Good question, because the 2 main characters of the show leave the game, and then they ofc appear in the show straight after. But if these episodes disappear, then surely they would be punishing new buyers by ripping out content from the game. Hmm

i believe you need to do the episode missions before the next episode of Defiance.
And it's not like the devs aren't going to be creating new episode missions after the premiere. I see it more of an additional encouragement to play the game ASAP. GW2 did some similiar stuff with their evolving events - i can't go back and play the stuff they did in November... dynamic game worlds must evolve without players otherwise it's just static... and that's one thing Trion is good at dynamic environments...

any idea how many there are? I would hate to miss out because I don't do them by the 15th.

I would assume given game size ect atm they will have a huge update planned for the shows release so you can play along side.
In interviews it was said the show will impact the game and potentially the other way around so, they must have something up their collective sleeves.

if you dont do the current episode missions by the 15th you will miss out on them entirely.

I highly doubt it. The first season of a show doesnt disappear just because season 2 is released. They still play reruns.

I'm very curious whether we can collectively have someone killed-off the show. In every 'verse there's usually a "Sansa Stark" type that's universally loathed. That kind of power would be...delicious. Con panel did say there would be a contest in which a player 'could possibly' do a guest spot.

I know the first one will be disappearing on monday (the dev blog said it would) so. i would assume the rest are the same.. could be wrong, but i'd rather err on the side of caution until i see whether the 2nd ep quest poofs or not.

the map has a legend that will let you tell the dif between main quest, side quest, and episode quests. off the top of my head: side quests are small "!'s and main quest missions are larger exclamation points.. i finished the last of the starting ep quests a while ago but i think the icon for those is an orange star

I read that player characters from the game will be used in the show from time to time.. they announced on the blog that if you wanted to be a part of this then you should make a name that could be used in the show... (ie: not dbag23471 or anything like that)

Oh, I see the icon on the map key now...yet, none on the map; do I need to complete some quests first, like a certain amount?
