After hours of trouble shooting i have a solution for this problem. step 1 under your Steam library right click on DayZ right click and all the way at the bottom will be Properies. Step 2. Under properties tab all the way to the right is BETA. select version that is at the far bottom. Run Game. Step 3 enter into a server you used to play before error when game loads up it will say you are running incorrect version this is what you want. Quit back to desktop right click DayZ under steam click on properites click on BETA tab select NONE back to regular version RUN GAME. You shoud be all set. Any problems retry all three Steps full restart if not ask here on Forum ill trouble shoot it.

I copied my friends files of Arma:II and OA to my laptop and after paying for the game it successfully worked and I could play with them.
BUt after successfully downloading and opening both Arma:II and Operation Arrowhead, in respective order on my PC DayZ Mod gives me the communiteyconfig error, I also have no beta versions on my computer when in the Properties > Betas

I downloaded Arma ii and Arma II OA and ran them both off steam.
I then downloaded dayz and tried to run it. I recieved the communityconfig error
I have no beta versions when I go to the properties.
Pls help me

Its under the tabs section within properties to select a different version of dayz to run

Hi mate install DayZ Commander from http://www.DayZCommander.com/ and install/update your DayZ game from in that. Also use it to run your DayZ game. It will solve ALL your problems! :) Also if you want a good squad to join on DayZ add me.

The Arma 2 Dayz Mod on steam was my alternative (to see if it would work that way). I got this problem since the latest patch, downgrading does not solve. I've been using DayZ Commander for the past year.

Got it to work, deleted CBA (even though it wasn't active), and selected both steam boxes in the settings of DayZ Commander. (Only had the launch with steam active).

When I start it under 'Play with Beta Patch' it says 'Failed to start game (missing executable).'

I can get onto the game, but whenever I try to join a server it says "Bad Version - Server rejected connection"

i have never played the game before today, i just downloaded the mod and tried to play, it gave me the error message listed above me as well as the "Cumminty etc" error message. i have tried all your steps multiple times and nothing works. what can i do to fix this?
