Kinda if i was to compair it to another mmo id compair it to eve online but set back in the pirating/privateer days. Thats just my opinion though.Or if you a fan of games like sid meirs pirates then yeah this is for u.

Or: Its huge, really huge. You can explore the whole (known) world from the 15-16th century with your ship. Its much slower than PotbS, but much bigger and more complex.

It's a fantastic game. Like everyone else said, huge world, really expansive gameplay (three "classes", but you can mix and match skills as you please, and there's a number of jobs that you can change at will), really high replay value, great community (super helpful, for the most part), great storyline, and tons of freedom. You can sail around making discoveries, you can hunt pirates, you can BE a pirate, you can be a merchant, you can be a bodyguard for merchants, you can be pretty much any combination of things you want. And doing things in the game is pretty intuitive--like for trading, buy low, sell high, check the markets; if you do a lot of battling, you ca get skills that allow you to build your own cannons; so it's really not hard to catch on once you get the basics. You're always learning, though, so if you're looking for a game you can master after 20 hours, this isn't it. But it's really fun, and I definitely recommend it.

Caveat: this game won't be available to play on steam come the end of November, so you'll have to download it from OGplanet at that time (maybe you'll wanna wait til then, instead of making two accounts, I dunno), but I still really recommend it anyway. :)
