What is this "Unlock Key"?

I bought this game on Indie Royale. There is a key called "Steam Key", and I think I can figure out what /that/ is for ;P, but what is this "Unlock Key"?

Yeah, I can't find any use for that code either.

You use it on the official Miner Wars 2081 site, on your profile page after you've created an account on it. If you sign into the non-steam version of the game with the account, you'll have access to the full game instead of the demo version.
