Game launcher cannot find game executable *SOLVED*

This is strange. I installed OBMM and "Qarls texture pack", and now whenever I start oblivion, the screen comes up to click play, but when I do it exits, asks me if I want to allow this program to make changes, and when I click yes it goes back to the same screen where I click play, but never starts. If I click "No" over and over again it says it "Cannot find game executable. Please reinstall Oblivion". I've reinstalled the game 3 times now. Anyone think they can help me?

Someone please help me, uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing, someone please tell me what's going on.

try just redownloading oblivion it'll remove any corrupted mods

Are you trying to launch the game through OBMM? Simply activating the mod you want in OBMM and then launching the game through steam is all you need.

I know, I tried, but when it launched the game, the same thing happened. This has never happened before.

Like, I click on the "Play Oblivion" option on OBMM but it still does the same thing where the message keeps popping up asking if I want to allow the program to make changes, and it just won't play. If I click "No" then ti does it 3 more times then says the launcher couldn't find the executable.

And make sure that Oblivion's master file is actually active.

The master file IS active, checked off and everything, still doesn't work.

i have not used mods yet but it would seem to me that the original config texts has to be on the save documents as well as program x64 folder as well. However im just guessing this the steam app is entirely different. So is this compatible for both versions?

OBMM can only run in the steam directory, not the "my games" directory.

Guys, seriously, if anyone has anything to help me out, I really need it, I just want to play Oblivion. This has never happened before and I need to know what to do.

I know this is an older thread but I'm having this same issue. GOTY Edition of Oblivion, with the DLC/Addons but technically unmodded as far as Nexus and those sites go. I've been having this problem for months now but only with this computer for some (probably important yet unknown) reason.
Has anyone found a fix yet? Other solutions I've found online haven't worked for me so far. Thank you!
