Won't start

I just bought Morrowind GOTY off of Steam and I had trouble opening it at first because of a "Render creation error", I then got past that by installing MGE. Now it all loads up fine to the main menu but as soon as I hit New Game it'll crash to the desktop :( Can anyone help?

Do you have In game Steam HUD disabled? if not, right click on the text that says Morrowind in you're steam library then go to properties then untick Steam community ingame. then it should work fine.

I've tried that and it still isn't working:( I've now installed the Overhaul mod and when I load the game it'll say "Outdoor Bannars not loaded" and then after clicking OK it'll crash to desktop again. How would I go about deleting all of the unnofficial Morrowind files from the steam directory?

completelty uninstall back to vanilla morrowind. then try playing again. then add mods one at a time to see if it is an incompatability with one of those that is cause the problem.
