The problem is with the intel 4600 HD driver that does not save scaling options like it did in 8.1
Waiting almost a month now for a new driver to fix it. Till then, i cant play any games in anything other than native 1080p (whcih is not a problem for my laptop anyways since im running all games off the GTX 860m), however older games that dont support it have those annoying black bars when rendering in 4:3.
In short, after getting Win10, 90% of my library all work fine since they run off my dedicaed GPU at 1080p. A small handful of games (Just Cause, and Morrowind) both are restricted to 4:3 res and therefore both suffer from black bars on either side. The issue is not dependant on which GPU is in use (Intel HD or GTX 860m) as the Intel 4600HD is always the one controling display's output, while the GTX 860m usually just does the actual processing and rendering to send to the IGP.
Till intel actually releases a fix, any game running a res lower than native will have black bars. Morrowind seems to be a weird exception that has a blue window with it too.. JC1 does not have this window, just black bars.
Mind sharing the source for the mod? It would be super helpful!
Here you go:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/35817/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/3875/?
'...- Resolution options fix. Allows the setting of all available resolutions in the options menu, instead of only resolutions with 4:3 aspect ratio.'
it makes the game engine much more stable, adds modern resolutions, better fullscreen options and improved stability
plus all your mods will work fine with it ^_^
So you're saying people don't use MO2 anymore? They just get the lists from Openmw, download the mods, and install?
i don't think i'd use MGXE with Openmw
