Linux?

I'm confused. On the Steam store home page, Insurgency shows up at a Linux game...but from what I can tell, it's PC/Mac only.

What's the deal?

For now, it's PC/Mac only. A proper Linux release is planned for the future. The developers are waiting on Valve to finish CS:GO's Linux port before they can port Insurgency. For now you can get it to work in Linux with Wine. If you need any help with that, I'll be happy to help.

I just checked online again, and Insurgency is still showing as a 'Featured Linux Game'.

Well the Linux beta for Portal 2 just went live. I think NWI should have access to the source code by now.

I bought the game almost a month ago, I know I may run it with wine but looked like was going to be avaiable on linux soon, is there any ETA, even not sure but please give us a hint

Portal 2 can be ported to Linux as well.

Portal 2 has already been ported to Linux. It's still in beta though.

The problem is that the Source version that Insurgency uses is the same version as the one that CS:GO uses and Portal 2 as well. Once those games are open to Linux, New World Interactive will get the code from Valve that they need to port Insurgency over. It's just a matter of time.

With the latest update on 4 June 2014, you're still stuck using Wine if you're on Linux. No news has been released by the devs.
